In this lesson we learned about the potential problems that may arise when teaching english. This can include students at different levels, large classes, use of native language, reluctant students, and difficulties with listening texts. One question I have is what if I don't know the foreign language? What if a student has a question but doesn't know how to ask it in english?This unit discussed how to assess students, and types of tests that are usually used - from placement tests to external tests. Most interesting was to learn about the variety of external tests, many of which I had heard about but did not know how to differentiate. In my country Cambridge Assessment tests are popular, and I know understand their distinction from the TOEFL test.
