Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit has provided a good general overview of the advantages and disadvantages of using course books for teaching. Also best practices for doing this were outlined, and some advice was given about supplementing or replacing course books with created materials. The use of authentic materials was discussed also; they can be used with advanced students to help them explore advanced language concepts.This unit has taught me what needs to be taken in consideration while teaching new vocabulary such as how it pertains to the students learning level as well the frequency of the usage in the modern language. Also, it's taught me how useful things such as role-playing is to teaching language functions as this will help the students use these rejection and invitation techniques in real world situations.
