This unit has been helpful as it looks at some of the common problems for teachers of English as a foreign language. and gives direction for when there may arise a common problem in the classroom. The ways of dealing with problems such as difficulty with listening tasks, large mixed ability groups and the use of native language are useful and will surely be problems that all teachers will encounter.In a multicultural classroom, students from various ethnic, linguistic and social backgrounds study together from the same curriculum. This is advantageous to the classroom , however, cross-cultural learning is beneficial in many ways, there are some disadvantages for both students and teachers. Some of the disadvantages include: language barrier, cultural behaviour and lack of teacher preparedness.
