Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Grammar, vocabulary, and function are all important parts of learning a language. Each of these aspects needs the context of the other aspects to make for effective language acquisition by students. At the same time, each of these aspects needs to be conveyed to students in its most effective way. For instance, a large part of students' ability to effectively learn vocabulary is the appropriateness of the words taught by the teacher. This unit gives an overview on the different ways of evaluating students' level and progress. It also introduces some of the common external exams an English teacher may need to prepare her students for. It helps in understanding the purposes for test and evaluation of students' English. Different types of tests play different functions in identifying effective solutions in helping students in their language learning and development.
