South Asian Council for Social Service (SACSS) was founded in 2000 with a mission to empower and integrate underserved South Asians and other immigrants into the economic and civic life of New York. We are a not-for-profit community based organization located in Flushing, Queens and are currently seeking a year-round ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) teacher for our Basic and Advanced English classes. This is a paid position. Our ESOL classes are designed to help immigrants enhance their conversational skills, improve employment prospects, gain self-confidence and become active participants in their everyday life. The classes prepare non-English speaking adults in basic reading, writing, and communication.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics/TESOL/ English or closely related field
2. TESOL/TEFL Certification
3. Teaching experience
