Lower School TeacherThe Lower School teacher creates and maintains an effective learning environment for his students. The teacher knows, assimilates, and fully practices the ideals, principles, and teaching methodology of integral formation. The teacher carries out his or her work professionally and with a spirit of initiative, creating an environment of confidence and respect. The Lower School teacher fosters a love for the truth and a love for learning and works to effectively carry out the mission of forming Christian servant leaders.QualificationsThe Lower School Teacher should meet the following qualifications:Minimum of the following:EducationMinimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Education, preferably Early Childhood (Master’s Degree preferred)Professional License in EducationTEFL/TESOL preferredSpecific ResponsibilitiesThe specific responsibilities of the Lower School Teacher include, but are not limited to, the following:Recognizes and supports the unique Catholic Mission of the school by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Catholic ChurchGives evidence of lived Gospel values by being an active member of a faith community and being open to the importance of personal faith journey; strives to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example. Plan and carry out lessons in subject taughtSelect and use a variety of learning resources and technology to effectively reach all studentsImplement differentiated instruction techniques to meet the diverse needs of studentsDevelop and maintain curriculum map and submit all lesson plans to department chair as directedAssess students to evaluate their abilities, strengths, and weaknessesAssess student work and give timely and appropriate feedback; Communicate areas of student concern to parents in a timely mannerMaintain regular and professional communication with parents concerning student academic progress Communicate areas of concern to department chair in a timely manner Teach students as an entire class or in small groupsCommunicate with parents about students’ progressWork with individual students to challenge them, to improve their abilities, and to work on their weaknessesPrepare students for standardized tests required by the stateDevelop and enforce classroom rulesMaintain an effective and formative classroom environment according to school guidelines using appropriate classroom management techniques Monitor environment to ensure that it remains clean, safe, and in good conditionSupervise students outside of the classroom—for example, at lunchtime or recessAssist in the preparation and coordination of school celebrations, activities, academic contests, and formation programsWork directly with Grade Level supervisor and administration to implement a positive school culture and carry out the mission of forming Christian servant leadersEffectively carry out assigned extra duties Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with studentsAdditional Responsibilities -Coaching:We are seeking experienced and mission-driven educators to join our athletic department. Our coaches support both competitive excellence and the formation of student-athletes in skill, character, and faith.Commitment to the mission and values of Pinecrest Academy’s Catholic identity and educational philosophy.Strong leadership skills and experience coaching at the high school level.Ability to foster a positive, student-centered culture focused on athletic development, sportsmanship, and teamwork.Teaching certification or experience preferred; teaching responsibilities may accompany coaching roles.Enthusiasm for mentoring young athletes in both competitive and personal growth.
