What’s So Great About Ayutthaya?

This small, charming city is situated about 1.5 hours north of Bangkok. It’s one of the most popular places to visit in Thailand for its rich history, beautiful, ancient ruins scattered about the city, and the tastiest street food in the whole country.

And in case you’re wondering, it’s a safe city, perfect for the first-time or lone traveller, and there is an awesome community of expats and cool places to hang out.

Testimonials from former teachers:

“Teaching in Ayutthaya was one of the best experiences in my life. It opened my eyes to a new (for me) and incredible part of the world: The Land of Smiles. With Joy’s help, I settled into my role as a primary English teacher in a local public school and I loved being with the kids every day. Joy also helped me find awesome (and super cheap) accommodation in the city, just a short cycle from work and steps to markets, shops, restaurants and the beautiful Wat Mahathat. On the weekends I travelled to nearby towns on my scooter, shopped in Bangkok, or just hung out by the river eating Pad Thai (okay, maybe that was everyday!) I definitely recommend teaching in Ayutthaya. I’ve taught in other Asian countries since then and I’ve never had as great an experience as I did with Joy’s help.” - Colleen (Canada)

Starting a new job and living in a new town can be stressful anywhere, but Joy helped make this experience easy and enjoyable! Ever since I got off the train in Bang Pa-In (at 4:30 am) Joy has been extremely accommodating.  From finding a house, renting a motorbike, getting advice for school, to helping me find minivan schedules, Joy has helped me with anything I've need, making not only my teaching experience, but traveling experience amazing.  Bang Pa-In is such a beautiful small town, where the people really care about each other and they are genuinely interested by foreigners.  With Joy's help I was able to easily transition into this community and truly make it my home in Thailand. - Alicia, Canada
