The third unit discussed about course development. It explained the importance of level testing and needs analysis, giving examples for both. After a brief overview of possible limiting factors, the lesson taught me about syllabus design. In addition, I was introduced to different types of tests to assess the students. In the end, the unit emphasized how vital is the course evaluation, in order to make the teacher improve more and more.This unit really stressed the importance of context regarding speaking skills. While reading and writing are important, more exceptions come about when studying language contextually and when taking into account instances that would only come up in real life situations such as reporting. Thought there are still many opportunities to practice speaking skills for scenarios related to reporting, that can be fun and informative to students.
