Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Reading and listening are the two receptive skills. There are several keys that will help build these skills such as prediction, deduction, scanning, skimming, and looking for details. The teacher can motivate and engage students to further develop these skills by catering to their interests, by selecting interesting texts/dialogues, by building up interest, and by selecting realistically achievable comprehension tasks. This unit covered the productive skills speaking and writing. It went into further detail with activities for both and included a list of games with web links at the end. I learned what to look for to tailor the subject that might best succeed with the students needs. I recognized the 3 by 3 explanation for the second ESA demonstration which then made sense. The guidelines for the speaking activity were very helpful.
