Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University (SBS) is currently looking for a qualified and experienced Literacy Coordinator for Early Years and Primary.SBS is an IB PYP School situated just north of Bangkok.
Position: PYP Literacy Coordinator, AY 2024-25Salary: At least 75,000 baht per month depending on qualifications and experience
Literacy Coordinator Roles & Responsibilities:● Assess levels of students and determine the level of support needed● Provide language support that is in alignment with the PYP● Coach classroom teachers in creating inquiry based balanced literacy programmes● Coordinate Reading & Writing assessments (BOY, MOY, EOY)● Data analysis and graphing● Report on strengths and needs of programmes and action plan● Coordinate MAPS assessment● Teach and develop Literacy Skills● Provide professional development for teachers
Community Relations:● Promote reading to learning community● Share relevant reading materials with staff based on the latest research● Oversee EAL lessons● Review report card comments & coach staff on developing comments as needed
Qualifications:• Candidates must hold the minimum of a bachelor degree or a Master degree in a relevant field or in education,• PGCE certificate or Bachelor of Education• Teaching Licence and TEFL/TESOL certificate or diploma preferred
Experience:• Training and experience in the IB PYP Programmes• Experience of using a ‘play based approach to learning’ and inquiry strategies• Previous experience in leadership role preferred
