Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit gave some insight to the reality that I know I will specifically have to deal with as a teacher in South Korea, which is using a textbook. While I am excited to have an aid to lean on, I was concerned for the ability to deviate from the book. This unit explains that a good teacher will use the book but be flexible in their ability to judge what's useful or not and when to supplement. In this lesson I learned about introducing vocabulary and language functions. I learned what factors to consider for introducing vocabulary and grammatical structures. Things like age, usage in daily life and language level are factors to consider. I also took a look at some different ideas for the engage, study and activate stages of a lesson for vocabulary, grammar and language functions.
