Date posted:2011-03-31 | Writer: International English | Email: [email protected]

International English is the premier English language learning centre in Arequipa. We have opportunities for TEFL qualified teachers who are able to make a minimum of a 6 month commitment. Our team currently consists of teachers from Malta, England, Ireland, The Netherlands, and United States.

We have classes in the mornings, afternoons and evenings.  We also have in-company courses and private classes that may be scheduled for weekends. The average teacher has 20 contact hours per week.  There are usually more hours available for those who desire to work more.We have a variety of classes for adults and young learners. Our young learners are between 11-16 years old and our adult classes have students ranging from 17-65 (with the average age being 23).

Payment is based on your contact hours. The rate of pay is based on qualifications and experience, with a base rate of 8 -12 soles per hour. We also pay higher rates for in-company courses and for any classes taught on Saturdays.

For more information, contact us at the e-mail address given on the job heading.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit was very useful as i branch out from teaching individually to groups. It has given me the tools I need to create a healthy learning atmosphere and to tackle problems if and when they arise. In my opinion classroom management is one of the most important aspects of teaching from eye contact ,gesture and the voice to grouping students to classroom arrangement and last but not least to discipline.Learning about how to arrange classrooms by different types of seating for different reason. About using students names at the end of a question instead of the beginning. How to increase student talk time and reduce teacher talk time. Individuals, pairwork, and whole class lessons. How to use gestures, voice, and eye contact. All of these things are helpful for learning how to manage a classroom setting.
