Hermosillo is the capital city of the Mexican State of Sonora. It is a border state, and is a bit different from other touristy parts of central and southern Mexico. Life here is often dictated by the extreme weather, where the temperature is often over 42 ?C (108 ?F) during the summer months. People try to stay indoors as much as possible during the day since most places are air-conditioned. To cool off a bit locals also go to nearby Kino Bay or San Carlos beach on the weekends.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit covered the productive skills, speaking and writing. We covered accuracy versus fluency and in which cases each are important. It is important to know when each are needed to know when to prompt or correct students. Engaging students to speak and do so comfortably are important factors to consider. Writing is also an important skill that is often overlooked in the drive towards accuracy and fluency in speaking. The unit discusses the various motivations and difficulties that different levels of students may have in the classroom. It also overviews the different teaching styles that a teacher may deploy at different times during the class. Overall, the unit emphasizes teaching flexibility based on the content and the student's proficiency. In general, there should be combination of leading and facilitation of student interaction.
