CEDEI is situated in both Gualaceo and Cuenca, Ecuador. CEDEI seeks qualified EFL teachers for July and October 2007. CEDEI is a not-for-profit institution of higher learning founded in 1992, dedicated to the study of American languages and cultures. To foster understanding among the people of the Americas, our organization sponsors a variety of academic activities independently and in conjunction with universities in North and South America. CEDEI has three sites, two in Cuenca and one in Gualaceo, offering English classes. For all three sites, English instruction is offered to more than 800 students with a staff of at least 40 teachers. Our Gualeceo site is still in its first years but our student population is growing, and now we provide English classes to more than 100 students.

Gualaceo, Ecuador is a pretty town with a population of over 16,000 located on the banks of the Rio Santa Barbara surrounded by mountains. Gualaceo enjoys spring-like temperatures year round. Families still gather at the city  centre and a weekly market offers fresh produce, flowers and local crafts.

Chordeleg and Sigsig are towns close by that offer pre-Inca archeological sites and local artists offer their crafts such as jewelry, textiles and ceramics.

Cuenca, Ecuador is located high in a valley in Ecuador's southern Andes. Cuenca is 36 km (22 miles) away from Gualaceo, which is readily accessible by public transport in less than an hour. Cuenca is a city of more than 300, 000 people and is the third largest city in the country. Cuenca enjoys spring-like temperatures year round. Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Similar to the previous unit, I really enjoyed the methods utilised to teach productive skills, and look forward to putting them into place myself. I really think games are an effective way to teach kids, as it motivates them, gets them involved whilst learning at the same time. I also like the emphasis on the different lessons plans e.g. Straight Arrow etc as it makes you keep on top of the knowledge of them all.Lesson planning will assist me in putting ESA method into use in all the different ways it can be used. As inexperienced teacher it would be in my best interest to plan before hand and still leave room for flexibility as suggested in the unit. I believe this will help me in achieving teaching objectives and maintaining control of the flow of the lesson. Hopefully with more experience planning will come naturally .
