Unit 18 goes over modal auxiliary verbs. Modal auxiliary verbs are placed before the main verb of the sentence in order to add extra meaning to it. Each modal auxiliary verb is used for different purposes. The word “may†is used for a polite request, a formal permission, or without complete certainty. The different uses are meant to communicated a different emphases on the verbs paired.How to teach language function and vocabulary is another important task. This Unit provides deeper understanding of methods which can be used during the ESA stages. Furthermore it combines those techniques for presenting and practising language structures with the Boomerang and the Pachwork functions and therefore make sure the students will engage with the new vocabulary during the whole lesson.
