Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit related the four types of verb usages to the past tense. I have found that students often struggle with using the past perfect and past perfect continuous, especially if it something that does not exist in their native language. It seems that students first need very specific games and activities to practice these grammar structures until they become comfortable with the meaning, usage, and context.This unit taught how to choose and teach new vocabulary, how to introduce grammatical structures, and how to teach language functions. It was extremely helpful that this unit included what to do during the engage, study, and activate stages while teaching these concepts. I know it will depend on the age of students when choosing the vocabulary words to teach, but the process will not change for the most part.
