Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

At the beginning of the unit we are warned that tenses are often the most challenging element in the language acquisition process and I understand why. This lesson reminded me of how difficult tensing can be for even higher-level English learners. It will take a great deal of conversational group work as well as regular drilling to get student comfortable with the different applications of the present tense. The present tense can be very confusing when judging which form to use. Especially when different emphasis is placed on different tenses. I have learned the general outline of how to teach present tense and feel it is a challenge to teach it to international students. Using the learning techniques from before will definitely help incorporate each present tense and learning to use it effectively and naturally
