Teach EFL in Costa Rica (2)

Date posted:2016-01-14 | Writer: englishCR | Email: [email protected]

englishCR is currently looking for TEFL trained English teachers to work on a project in the Alajuela Region of Costa Rica. We are based in a small town in the central valley and teach a wide variety of students from 4 to 18 years old. Our placements have been in high demand and we currently have an opening for an EFL teacher to join our team in February.  We are looking for teachers who can commit to staying with us at least one month, but preference will be given to those who can commit for longer. We will consider all applicants with a good level of English and a passion for teaching. We don't require previous teaching experience but having a positive and optimistic attitude is important for us when working with the children.

In exchange for your help at the project you will receive free meals, accommodation, WiFi, television and weekly laundry. The position is voluntary.

At the end of your time with us we hope you will receive a letter of recommendation from our director as well as valuable teaching experience. During your down time you will have opportunities to visit and explore Costa Rica.

HOW TO APPLY:

If this sounds like an opportunity for you, contact us at the email address given on the job heading and tell us a little about yourself, including why you want to work with us. We will then provide you with further information.

Thank you

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit was very similar to the one on present tense. It was good to go over the different types of past tenses including past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. Otherwise, I went through the content of this unit fairly quickly as everything in the lesson was clearly stated and well explained. In this unit, I wish there were more examples of student errors.Knowing what materials to use in a classroom is essential to provide a well-rounded and effective lesson. I for one am so thankful for the accessible websites where I can download free worksheets and the likes. It has been the most useful thing for us teachers since others can share their experiences and I also agree in omitting unecessary topics in a course book and then supplementing it.
