The first role of the teacher is to provide knowledge. This is the most basic and essential role that anyone whom teache must fulfill. Besides, the teacher must not only have strong professional knowledge but also ensure the ability to communicate is easy to understand and create excitement for learners.
The teacher has a role to teach students how to learn; how to receive and process knowledge; how to communicate, behave civilly and politely with the people around, how to train yourself; forming skills, awareness, ethics ... to equip students qualities that can meet the needs of social development.
The teacher must plan, prepare the classroom environment, design activities to suit the abilities, practical needs, the life experiences of each learner. When organizing activities, it is necessary to put learners at the center of the educational process, create all opportunities for them to participate in activities gentle and comfortable and effective.
The teacher is the one who guides students to exploit lessons, read materials, do exercises and guide thinking about each specific problem. Besides, the teacher also helps students to do case studies and practice skills in life. This role will help students turn the training process into self-training and turn human knowledge into their knowledge.
At the same time, the teacher also encourages students to actively participate in the process of improving cognitive and thinking capacity, guiding and helping them develop independent learning skills such as self-determination of their own goals. Also, the teacher helps them find and process the information, assess their ability and quality of learning,
During the instruction, the teacher must be a "potential prophet" to facilitate and shape the knowledge of the individual student, harnessing the abilities of the student in the learning process. In this way, the teacher will focus on the student's process capabilities.
Friend, sharer, leader, and inspiration
The teacher is not only teaching knowledge, but also a friend who shares and understands the student's confidences. There will be times when students encounter difficult problems, be depressed in studying or fail to find answers in lessons, in specific exercises, specific situations. At such times, the teacher must be a friend to share and understand, help to devise optimal plans, support with all ability and responsibility, thereby creating motivation and inspiring learning. In this way, the connection between teacher and students become more sustainable.
Personality education is an especially important task of all social regimes, especially the younger generation. In every situation, the teacher is the one who arouses the good qualities in each student, helping them to improve their personality and lifestyle, raise awareness about environmental protection, lifestyle for community and society through many specific educational activities. And above all, help students live honestly, responsibly, have good faith in the present life. From there they will know how to love, help and share with everyone around.
Observation is one of the necessary factors to help teachers accurately assess learners' competencies. Teachers closely monitor each student to demonstrate a sensitive period, which is the time where learners are particularly receptive to learning skills. Careful observation also allows the teacher to determine when the learner is ready to continue the next lesson. While observing teachers should keep a distance with learners so they do not get distracted from the activity that they are participating in. However, if necessary, the teacher should also help and encourage them to be more confident in completing their tasks.
Fostering gifted, discovered a passion
Another important quality that teacher needs is the ability to see each student's strengths, forte, and qualities. Thereby the teacher has methods to foster and promote effectively learner's gifted.
At certain stages of the lesson, a teacher may be a participant in the lesson as an equal learner, not as a teacher. At this time, the teacher will have other perspectives to help students solve difficulties in the learning process.
Also, as a participant in classroom learning activities, the teacher can return to the learner's position, understanding and sharing learning responsibilities with them. From that teachers can promote the active role of the learner and choose teaching methods suit.
The teacher also has a role to remind when the learners are distracted, not focused. But it must be reminded how students feel they are respected and loved and from there they want to adjust their learning behaviors and attitudes to the role of the learners.
Finally, the teacher is the one who evaluates, give feedback and make corrections as well as grading. This requires the teacher to be fair and fair.
