English Grammar - Past Continuous - Structure - Teaching English Online

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

This section covered pronunciation and phonology and I learned an invaluable qunatity of information about this subject. The pronunciation of specific sounds is something that was emphasized and it includes the analysis of different sounds that the human mouth and vocal chords can make. I learned several unique teaching techniques for pronunciation and phonology during these lessons. This unit was about the difference between created and authentic materials, involving mostly course books. This is important because we as teachers have to deal with the books we are given, whether or not they are accurate or practical. If they are not, we have to supplement/provide additional materials, such as creative materials. It's good to know the difference between the two.
