English Grammar - Future continuous - Teaching Ideas - Teaching English Overseas

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

The theme of unit 7 was Teaching new language. There were introduced the ways of teaching new vocabulary, grammatical structures and language functions. A typical type of an ESA function lesson for each of them was presented as well. What I learnt in this lesson was how important is to choose vocabulary and grammatical structures carefully according to English level of the students. This unit provides a lot of details on the model auxiliary verbs and the passive voice. A model auxiliary verb is placed before a verb to implant a meaning, such as expressing an advice or probability, to the main verb. Passive voice possess the same meaning as active voice but the emphasis on the agent is greatly reduced. The unit also touches on relative clauses and phrasal verbs.
