Can non native English speakers take a TEFL course?

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

It is so comforting to see just how many resources and options there are for an ESL teacher! I have visions of just being dropped in the middle of nowhere with no tools or assistance whatsoever. This unit helped remind me about what a great amount of information is available online and in other places, and that I already have experience with most of it. I just need to find it!In this unit, I learnt there are a number of ways to asses student's language level: tutorials, evaluation by the students, and tests. I gained knowledge of the proper times to distribute tests throughout teaching a course and how these tests apply to students. Differentiating which tests to give at what point in the lesson and course will help to benefit each student's learning.
