Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This Unit covers the topic of teaching special groups. There are six different groups mentioned and the basic principles that need to be applied when teaching those groups. The groups are beginners, individual students, children, Business English and monolingual/multilingual classes. It is really helpful to have an overview like this, to be able to focus on the groups that I want to teach in the future. In this unit, I learned about how to craft an ESA lesson. In different scenarios, it may make sense to do multiple engage, study or activate sequences in one lesson. Teaching vocabulary should emphasize words' meaning, use, forms and differences between written formal styles and spoken colloquialisms. The teacher should take care to English words' possible similarities to words in the native language.
