The International Summer School of Scotland (ISSOS) offers high school students from all over the world (aged 13-18) the unique opportunity to combine learning, creative enrichment and action-packed adventure in the historic and picturesque towns of St Andrews and Cambridge. Every summer we welcome students from over 60 nationalities.

ISSOS is looking for TESOL/ TEFL or equivalently qualified English teachers to join our summer school. Working as a team, the English Teachers will have the opportunity to meet and evaluate each English Language student’s ability and divide the group into smaller classes. Each teacher will be responsible for a distinct ability level and will assist students to become proficient in the English language. Your role will be to provide an exciting and challenging syllabus where students can improve their conversational skills including their grasp of colloquial language, develop their understanding and use of English grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and listening skills. ISSOS is looking for English Teachers who can provide a nurturing yet challenging atmosphere with individual attention and good classroom management skills.

As an ISSOS teacher, you will have your own class of international students aged between 13 – 18 years old. Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

A generalized set of classroom specifications for accomplishing linguistic objectives is a method. Methods tend to be primarily concerned with teacher and student roles and behaviors and secondarily with such features as linguistic and subject-matter objectives, sequencing, and materials. They are almost aways thought of as being broadly applicable to a variety of audiences in a variety of contexts. This unit has been slightly tricky for me as I found the 4 comparisons a little tricky. I will have to refer to this unit regularly to feel confident enough to teach the students. To teach the tenses I think I will have to simplify and make a quick table for the students to refer to as they will need regular practice. I think to take my learning further I will try to change 1 tense to the other tense.
