Opportunities Teaching English in UK

Date posted:2008-08-18 | Writer: Evocation | Email: [email protected]

Evocation are the largest agency in London. We currently have over 60 EFL teachers working for us every day.

We only work with British Council Accredited schools and therefore require teachers with both a degree and an EFL qualification which takes over 100hrs (CELTA or Trinity TESOL for example).

We have a huge demand for teachers and are able to pay more than you would earn if you worked directly for the school. We pay on average £13 per hour dependent on experience to some degree.

We also have a number of more senior positions available from course directors to Directors of Studies and Principals as well as Managing Director roles for established language schools in the UK and would be keen to speak to any senior teachers or managers about possibilities in the UK.

We also deal with International placements through our Asian office and if you would be interested in a role in Asia then please get in touch.

In the first instance if you could email your CV to Simeon at the email address given on the job heading page or call 020 7385 9768, we can get the ball moving and get you working in the next couple of days!

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

The equipment and teaching-aid unit was very helpful because it highlighted some of the equipment teachers can use in the classroom such as such overhead projectors, cassette recorders, visual aids, video cameras, whiteboards, DVD/CD players and other equipment. This was a unit I enjoyed reading because it included helpful information about classroom resources and some internet based resources teachers can use. When studying this unit, I never expected to have such a phase in learning to teach English and did not know that there were different types of reading methods, or that they had a label on it. This was very interesting as it also allows teachers to customize different types of stories/texts to encourage reading, which is very essential in picking up English and for students to improve their command of English.
