TEFL Job in Taiwan (3)

Date posted:2015-06-11 | Writer: Mark's English | Email: [email protected]

A group of well-established schools based in Taiwan's Taichung County is searching for an additional EFL teacher. We currently employ several foreign teachers and over 100 Taiwanese teachers. Within our group of schools we have 4 kindergartens and two cram schools (buxiban). Our schools are based in and around the historic and religious town of Dajia, just outside Taichung City.

This is an exciting position with a set curriculum but plenty of scope to an individual interest into lessons. The position is for full-time work at our kindergarten (3.5 teaching hours per day) and part-time work at our buxiban (1-7 teaching hours per week). The working hours at the kindergarten are from 8:30AM to 3:50PM, with a 2 hour lunch break in the middle.

We are searching for talented, energetic people that have a genuine interest in the culture of Taiwan and the academic progress of our students. The ideal candidate does not necessarily need extensive teaching experience, but will more importantly possess a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work for a well-established school with a strong reputation. As compensation, not only will you be given a very competitive salary, but also fully furnished and paid accommodation, bonus, full health insurance coverage, and a consistent schedule. There is plenty of potential to make significant savings.

Benefits:

+ Bonus (provided on completion of contract)

+ Monthly salary averaging 67,000 TWD per month

+ Fully furnished, self-contained accommodation

+ TV, wireless internet, and air conditioner

+ An outstanding working environment!

As far as minimum requirements, all candidates must be Native level English speakers and also possess an accredited university degree, preferably with TEFL certification.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Unit 1 demonstrates the different aspects of becoming a good teacher, the different roles of the teacher, what makes a good learner, and the different levels of language skills. I am interested in learning more about the different aspects of becoming a good teacher after reading about the differences of the personality of the teacher and the relationship between the teacher and the students.I have learnt about different groups and differences of teaching them. There are 4 types of groups that need a different approach to teach them. They are beginners, individual, business English and multilingual class. All groups have some problems in teaching that a good teacher has to struggle with. I'd like to get more information in this Unit about teaching Young learners and teenagers.
