Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

In this unit, I learned that the system and structure of past tenses is fairly similar to those of present tense. However, the past perfect tense and the past perfect continuous tense is not too commonly used in the English language, unlike the past simple tense and past continuous tense. The usages could be confusing as well. Teachers especially need to pay attention to the change of forms among irregular verbs.I found understanding the structure/form and usage of the past tenses very clear and easy to understand. This is because it is built on the same four principles as the present tenses. The work I did understanding the four present tenses has certainly paid of. I would like to go through the unit on present tenses again to ensure that I have really understood the different usages as clearly as the past tense usage.
