Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Receptive skills include listening and reading. Reading is easier to comprehend as students can go back and reread or read at a comfortable pace. It is important to teach vocabulary, but not to overwhelm the students with too much vocabulary. The teacher may go over more vocabulary after if neccessary. Having students create a biography of someone and having others guess practices their reading skills and others listening skills. This unit was very good in that it showed how important the teachers attitude is when giving an effective lesson. The students in the first lesson were obviously intimidated and confused by the teacher. In the second it is a complete reversal of engagement between the students and the teacher. It is of critical importance that no matter what the teacher present the most positive and engaging attitude he can with this students.
