The English House is a small, highly regarded academy based in Alcañiz in the heart of rural Aragón. We have an opening for a lively and enthusiastic EFL teacher capable of teaching all age groups but especially comfortable working with primary level children. We teach highly communicative English to children and adults as well. Class sizes are typically between 6 and 8 students, there are no weekend classes and each week we hold a discussion or training workshop for teachers.

Alcañiz is a provincial town of around 15,000 inhabitants. People are friendly and the demand for English is high which helps our teachers integrate quickly with the local community. So if you would also like to improve your Spanish or you simply enjoy speaking it then this is the place for you.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit deals with a variety of materials that teachers can use to help their students progress in the classroom. It explains the differences between authentic and created materials, both materials are needed and useful depending on the need of students. This unit also explains how to use course books effectively which was helpful because course books can be boring and examples outdated. This unit covers the actual teaching of vocabulary of the English language. It referenced back to the different Styles of ESA teaching including the straight arrow, boomerang and patchwork lesson plans. It also goes into detail on just how much is needed to correctly teach the vocabulary from the initial selection of the vocabulary to how best to teach it, to best how to use it in practice.
