Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

The unit looked at conditional sentences and reported speech of direct speeches. With regard to the conditional sentences, first, second, third and mix conditional sentences were looked at. I have learnt that, just to mention one example, present simple tense changes to past simple tense in its reported speech. But with every rule, there are exception and that care must be taken in the use of these rules. When teaching someone a new language it is important to focus on the basics, structure and vocabulary. It is important to structure lessons according to the stage of ESA you want. It is also important to structure the overall lesson according to the ESA structure you think is best for that subject. Whether its straight arrow, boomerang, and patchwork and have activities or materials ready for each stage.
