Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

During this unit we learned about teaching a language that is foreign to its students. I learned about how to pick vocabulary words and how to teach them. I also learned about teaching grammatical structures and language functions. The most important thing that this lesson did for me was to teach me the ways and pathway you go about teaching someone who is not familiar with your language. This unit was centered on classroom management; all aspects of it, including appropriate use of eye contact, gestures, voice (of the teacher). and use of student's names. The unit also covered the pros and cons of whole-class grouping, students working on their own, pair-work, and group-work - and the different factors that affect which grouping style is best fitting for different scenarios.
