The government is committed to improving the nation's English language skills however the demand for resources exceeds the supply. Due to the time difference, the majority of lessons will take place between 6pm - 11pm New Zealand time. Your hourly rate will be between NZ$20 - $30 depending on your qualifications and experience. It would be a distinct advantage if you are comfortable using the Internet and email and have access to a computer at home.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit deals with the use of grammar tenses. It is more useful for Teachers to consider that there are three different times in English grammar, and each of these times has four aspects:simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. In this unit, after a grammar expalnation, there is a clear example of the most common mistakes students generally do, so to help new Teachers to improve their way of teaching.Unit 12 covers the productive skills: speaking and writing. There are two types of communicative activities: accuracy and fluency activities. They both carry equal importance and they come into different stages of a lesson. By creating a comfortable classroom atmosphere where students are not afraid to speak or make mistakes, teachers can overcome the hurdles that may hinder students reluctance to participate.
