Polyglot Institute has had a solid reputation for teaching English in The Sultanate of Oman for over 30 years. We are currently looking for a TEFL qualified teacher to teach mainly Omani nationals General English using the Headway series of coursebooks at one of our language training centres in the capital area. Teachers need to be highly grammar focused as this is predominantly what students here require. Lesson plans keep inexperienced teachers on track and aid them in furthering their students' knowledge. Planning allows a teacher to become comfortable with the teachings for the day as well as gather backup answers to possible questions students may ask. Teaching for the first time may be difficult, but comprising a timed list of activites to follow should lessen the overall stress of a first-time instructor.In this lesson I learnt about various ways of dealing with potential problems I might encouter in the classroom and useful ways of dealing with these. I found the ection on the 'The first Lesson' very insightful, and only wish that I had read it or been exposed to it before I started teaching. Alas the information it contained is still useful and I will be incorporating that too into my lessons moving forward.
