TEFL in Culiacan, Mexico.

A successful candidate will teach at both our Preparatoria and Profesional levels (equiv. to high school and college respectively). Candidates should preferably have 3 to 5 years of experience teaching English to non-native speakers (preferably overseas).
The Tec de Monterrey system places a high value on the ability of its instructors to work collaboratively within academic departments in order to ensure that there is consistency across sections and to provide input into program evaluation and development. Because of this emphasis on collaboration, instructors are expected to be on campus from 8 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm so that they will be able to fulfill both teaching and programmatic responsibilities. The program is currently undergoing a redesign, so candidates with a background and interest in course design and evaluation would be an advantage. Also, because instructors must teach in the Preparatoria program, it is essential that an instructor feels comfortable working with students in this age group.
The candidate must be a native speaker. Remuneration (plus various benefits) will be $309, 972.00 Mexican pesos per annum. This salary is considered better than average in Mexico. The minimum contract is for one year. There is no maximum. Classes begin in early August, but a successful candidate should be prepared to begin work no later than July 25. Due to the limited time available to hire for this position, please be aware of the following requirements:
1. An M.A or M.Ed. in TESL or in a closely related discipline

2. Faxed copies or emailed attachments of the following documents:
(a) CV
(b) Diploma (both the M.A./M.Ed. and the B.A.)
(c) Transcripts of relevant degrees
(d) Phone number where you can be reached by pre-arrangement

3. Pre-employment interview at a location to be announced

4. Availability no later than July 25

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit have taught me the differences of the four past tenses. I also learned the proper usages of each. The examples were helpful as it made more sense putting it into actual sentences rather than just explanations. It also addressed the common mistakes that students may have regarding this unit. It even addressed how students can confused it with the other present tenses. It made it clear how to properly use each tense. This section of the course offered insight into a few limited ways to assess students. It did a better job of discussing the many reasons why one would assess students. This course failed to mention the value of project-based learning in which assessment is based on projects, an approach which is being promoted because students are more likely to do projects in the real world, at jobs and such, than ever have to take a test.
