TEFL in Rome

Unit 1 covered the Course Introduction. The topics of this course are; Teaching and Learning, Course Development, Materials, Teaching Themes and Business English World. One of the key things I have learned is that it is not really important to have special knowledge in special areas you want to teach, e.g.; if you want to teach English to a group of lawyers, you don’t need to have a special training in law.Unit five is about Teaching Themes being practiced in the ESL classroom. There were several of them listed and detailed in the unit, but as an elementary teacher, I naturally gravitated toward the games and how they can be easily adapted to suit specific needs of the students and teaching points. I thoroughly enjoyed this unit and can clearly see how I could and will use the ideas expressed there, in the future.
