Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This was a Very tricky Unit. I have never learned the phonetic symbols before and getting the hang of them took a while but I got there. When working with little kids I always use my mouth to show them how to pronounce a new word seeing that is works the best, but showing pictures words for older children. From this unit I have learned how to teach pronunciation in a more entertaining way. I will definitely be using these suggestions. In this unit we wrapped up the receptive and productive skills, with speaking and writing. We learned about the differences between the two skills as well as some of the similarities. Both speaking and writing are integral to learning how to communicate effectively in English and equal attention should be given to both. We also delved further into the differences between accuracy and fluency and how both are also equally important.
