Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

The videos showed how a teacher's attitude can greatly affect the students' ability to learn. In the first video, the teacher appeared unapproachable and reproached the students when they did not understand his questions. He could have explained his instructions better. Using esoteric terms such as “modal auxiliary verbs” might serve to obfuscate rather than illuminate. As it has been said before grammar is a wide and an important topic that is needed for an effective and correct communication and understanding, therefore knowing it as a teacher, knowing how to teaching it is vital, so the teacher will be able to transfer this knowledge in an effective way. Modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice are just part of the grammar teachers need to learn.
