Date posted:2006-05-29 | Writer: ICH Language Training | Email: [email protected]

English teachers are required to work on an exciting summer school in West Sussex. We have students from all over the world visit our residential college. Teachers deliver lessons Monday -Friday each morning (plus some afternoons) and assist fully with activities during afternoons and evenings.

We are looking for individuals that can work positively as part of a course team and enjoy working with children of different ages and English language ability. We are particularly interested in applicants that already have experience of working with young people across different contexts (education, sport, youth, community settings).

All positions are residential. Accommodation is of a very good standard with staff and students living in brand new college buildings.

CELTA, Trinity, TESOL or PGCE qualification.

Individuals with any other relevant qualifications related to working in a youth setting are of particular interest to us (e.g. first aid certificate, sports coaching awards, university degree etc).

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This unit explores the different dynamics that must be considered when teaching special groups. The Unit covers groups such as young children, business professionals and students with different levels of English proficiency. The Unit also looks at several methodologies for effective teaching. These methodologies can be utilized after the teacher has done a 'needs analysis' for the class or individual they are teaching. This unit was quite effective in explaining concisely what you should keep in mind when constructing lessons to maximise the development of productive skills. It also provided me with a greater understanding of how to make lessons that can specifically target either speaking or writing. And of course the synopsized practical ESA lesson plans were useful in seeing exactly how to apply the theory presented in the unit.
