Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Unit six covers material on the four past tenses of the English language. Again, the boxes that show sentence form is useful for quick reference. I found some of the explanations wordy and not very descriptive. For instance, the past perfect continuous section only gave one example, where as some more sentences would help show a pattern. There was no active stage teaching advice for the past perfect continuous stage.Once again, using past experience, I see that having a formally structured lesson plan does not mean that the lesson itself needs to be rigid and structured. Before, I would keep fairly unstructured lesson plans out of fear of making my lessons overly structured. More importantly, the lesson was a good way to see in detail what the engage, study, & activate looks like in practice rather than what their definition is.
