Our company represents over 15 Kindergarten schools in Hong Kong. We are looking
for 10 more Native English Teachers for the coming semester which starts from 1
Sept 2005 to July 2006.

We offer :

1. 11 months contract, from 1st Sept to 31st July. Plus 1 month
summer course for Aug.(11+1), summer course will confirm in the second semester.

2.Six weeks paid holidays during X'mas, Chinese New Year and Easter.

3. Monthly salary HK$12, 000 plus HK$3, 000 in total as trip allowances during paid holidays,HK$1,000 per trip.

4. Free Accomodation, to be shared with 1 teacher.

5. Free return air-ticket to home land or next destination, maximum HK$5, 000.

6. Free Working Visa

7.Teaching material support, Clipart/Flash cards

8. Teaching assistance
Working Hours Mon to Friday : 8.30am to 4.30pm Saturday : 9.00am to 1pm

Age Group & Curriculum We have K1, K2 and K3 here for kindergarten. K1= 3 years
old K2= 4-5 years old K3= 5-6 years old

For K1 (15-20 mins), you will be teaching the alphabet and the sound of alphabet
and 2 related vocalbury. For example, A, a , A for Apple, A for Ant

For K2 (20-30mins), you will be teaching :- 1. Phonics /The alphabet and the
sound of alphabet and 4 related vocalbury. For example, A,a, A for Apple, A for Ant, A
for Aeroplane, A for Alligator. 2. Oral conversation such as What is you name? How
old are you? 3. Theme topic such as 'Going to school' teach related vocalbury such
as rubber, ruler, table, chair etc

For K3 (30 mins), you will be teaching:- 1. Phonics + related vocalbury 2. Oral
conversation such as What is this? What can you do? 3. Theme topic such as
'Transportation' teach related vocalbury such as ferry, truck, bus, taxi etc
Inter-active Approaches You have to design a game/activity for reinforcement.
Singing/rhymes etc For example: ball game, twister, matching card memory game,
who touch me, any games.

I learned that there are many different teaching styles and strategies that all need to be incorporated for a dynamic teaching style. I also learned that students are coming from different cultural places with factors like age, level, motivation, and culture all playing a part and that a good teacher will be aware and sensitive to these differences. I also learned about the general levels of English knowledge among students.After studying Unit 9 I found out many interesting ideas about lesson planning. I learned the basic principles of lesson planning as well as different practical things teachers can do in order to get sure that lesson goes smoothly. This unit also tells us what items should be included in a lesson plan. The most useful part to me was the one with an example lesson plan. It will help me to organize my lessons better in future.
