This unit provides different ways of evaluating students' levels and progress, as well as some of the common external exams that teachers may need to prepare students for. I learned that the school provides the students with examinations that place them in the right level to learn English. I really think that continually giving out progress exams will let the teacher know how well the students are learning the material.This unit was helpful in catering to specific issues that may occur in the classroom such as issues with participation or students reverting back to their native language. When I was teaching abroad in Chile, I would often let students speak to me in their native language to clarify games or activities, however this chapter enforce that it is best to respond only to their English in order to motivate them to learn more.
