With recent political and economic reforms, British Council Burma is rapidly expanding its work in English and Education. This is an excellent career development opportunity for TEFL qualified teachers wishing to broaden their experience. The English for Education College Trainers (EfECT) project will work with Teacher Educators from across the state Education sector to improve the quality of education across primary, secondary and tertiary sectors of Burma’s state education system. Each trainer will work in partnership in their Education College / Institute of Education posting with a trainer recruited through Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO).

Successful post holders will need to be comfortable with ambiguity and will be required to demonstrate flexibility, independence and resilience.
There are presently expected to be 4 vacancies based in:
- Hlegu Education College (near Rangoon)
- Bogolay Education College (in the Ayeyarwaddy delta region)
- Kyauk Phyu Education College (in Rakhine state)
- University for Development of the National Races (in Sagaing)
Applicants should have:
an internationally recognised TEFL qualification (Cambridge CELTA/TESOL/relevant PGCE)
an undergraduate/university degree
post-certificate teaching experience
