This unit explains the four past tenses succinctly. For each of ‘past simple, ‘past continuous', ‘past perfect' and ‘past perfect continuous' it elaborates on the form, usage and common student mistakes/errors. It also shares valuable ideas for the activate stage. The many examples given helped my understanding and confidence. A solid understanding of tenses is a must when teaching students.I learned the different proper names for the past tenses. I learned how to properly identify between regular, and irregular past verbs. I also was educated on which things students find most troublesome; for example do's & don'ts, and question form of past tense. i realized that past, present, and future all have the same forms. These forms are simple form, continuous form, perfect form, and perfect continuous.
