Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

I definitely needed to review the exact usage of the different present tense forms. As a native speaker, I recognized correct and incorrect usage, but being able to explain the tenses was not in my bailiwick. Some oversimplifying ideas such as have/has are perfect, and 'ing' is the easiest continuous indicator will be useful. The specific references to activation ideas were helpful too. This unit is important in that it defines the receptive skills and how to use those in the engage, study, activate phases of instruction. Receptive skills initiate the learning process since high levels of these skills better ensure the students' ability to understand the text they are reading or seeing. Developing these skills are essential for students to improve their language skills.
