Date posted:2012-02-21 | Writer: HELP! Heslington Language Programs | Email: [email protected]

Come and immerse yourself in Mexican culture! Paid ESL Volunteers are recruited based on TEFL Certification and/or teaching experience. In order to help teachers fund their personal costs, HELP! provides teachers with free accommodation in a lovely apartment close to the school as well as a living stipend. Volunteers teach real-life English that students can use in a variety of everyday situations.

The maximum number of students per class is 12. HELP!’s has three different programs teaching children (4 – 10 years old); pre-teens/teens (11 – 16 years old); and adults (17 – 100 years old). No Spanish is required to volunteer…What is required is an open mind and enthusiasm. HELP! provides the basic curriculum and lesson plans to teach the fundamentals of the English language. Volunteers have the freedom to integrate activities, games and anything they think will help their students learn and develop.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

This Unit briefly discusses commonly-occurring problems in TEFL classrooms and provides suggestions on how to address these problems. Among the problems are -- coming in to teach an already-established TEFL class (replacing another teacher), dealing with students' use of their native language during the class, having students with different ability levels and prior English knowledge in the same class. This unit was quite a challenging one and forced me to look closer at your main method of teaching and helped me a lot to understand better its inner logic. Now this model of teaching seems to me more obvious, rational and practical. I remember lessons realized according to this model by my English teacher and now I know its theory therefore it will be much easier for me to create my teacher workshop.
