Do you want to be able to impress people at Parties for the rest of your life? Indonesia!

Hemingway would have leapt at the chance, Dervla Murphy would not have balked and Alexander the Great would have already done it. Join Asiaํs swiftest expansion story; the now legendary, EF English First Medan school.

English First (EF) is a multinational school network with franchises across the globe. Medan is set on the North East of the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. We currently have two schools in Medan and one school in Pekanbaru, Riau (12 hours away from Medan) and wish to interview prospective teachers. We want enthusiastic, hardworking staff to join our existing team of British, American, Canadian and Australian staff. We require:

1/ TEFL certificate, or equivalent
2/ 1 or 2 years TEFL experience given preference

We provide:
1. visa and work permit
2. round trip airfare
3. one-year renewable contract
4. medical insurance
5. small classes of 10-15 students (from children to adults)
6. free internet access/computer lab resources
7. competitive salary package
8. free shared housing (2-3 teachers max.) in a pleasant suburb with excellent amenities

sounds too good to be true? Well we know that a happy teacher is a productive teacher. And, realistically, we have to offer a good package to tempt people past the (wildly exaggerated!) media coverage. Some parts of this vast country have recently undergone turbulent change. Images of these scenes were carried around the world. This part of Indonesia is a peaceful one. A murder in L.A would not stop one visiting Alaska would it? By the same token, applicants must be stoic enough to adapt to the change of culture, there is no McDonaldํs on the corner of every street and your chances of getting the Sunday papers is small. If you think you fit the bill, give us a bell.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

In this unit i learnt about the present tense, according to me present tense wasn't hard and doesn't consider a problem when i use it, but this unit uncovers a lot of details and tips about present tense and how to use it ,form, usages, typical student errors and activate stage teaching ideas. In my opinion is so important for teachers and learners to know deeply about the present tense because we use it a lot more than other tenses. This unit focuses on speaking and writing as the two main skills. It then goes into the importance of accuracy and fluency as well as recommend certain games and activities that would make it easier to attain the level of fluency and accuracy desired in different classrooms. In addition, this unit attempts to reinforce the ESA learning model by giving examples of how it applies to developing the students' speaking and writing skills.
