Teach EFL in Germany (2)

Date posted:2013-08-22 | Writer: Finer English | Email: [email protected]

An established, thriving language school in central Germany is seeking a full-time EFL teacher to teach small groups of business professionals according to their individual learning needs. Finer English is a virtual school - we have no school building and no staff-room where teachers can swap ideas at lunch-time. Lessons are taught on our clients' premises - all of which are reachable by public transport from Kassel city centre.

Details:
Finer English is an established, thriving language school started by Joe Finer in 1998. The school's success is built on a structured approach to teaching, centered on language audits to determine not only the students' competence in English but also the specific work activities for which English is necessary. All students are taught according to their individual learning needs.

Focusing primarily on companies in Kassel, Germany, the school's teaching team now numbers 26, including teachers for six languages besides English. Because teachers do not meet daily, regular communication by telephone and e-mail is essential. Teacher training sessions are held about every two months to develop teaching skills, exchange ideas and reinforce the co-operative team spirit.

Teaching according to each student's specific business needs means we use no set text books unless specifically requested. Teaching materials appropriate to the needs of each individual student are provided by Finer English.

Qualifications:
Applicants should be native level speakers of English, have a good working knowledge of German (CEF A2) and have at least two years of relevant teaching experience.

Formal EFL qualification is preferable.

Personality is important. We are seeking dynamic, energetic, open-minded teachers with a passion for both teaching and the English language.

Applicants should also have a good knowledge of world events and business terminology.

Candidates should also be excited both to learn new things and continually improve themselves as teachers.
Finally, Finer English would like applicants willing to make a two-year commitment.

Compensation:
The advertised vacancy is a freelance position. Starting rates are commensurate with teachers' experience. Finer English is pleased to offer teacher support and has a member of staff for that purpose. We will gladly assist the successful applicant with the red tape process and help find suitable housing.
If you meet the qualifications and are interested in this position please send your CV along with a current photograph to the Assistant Director of Studies at the e-mail address given on the job heading.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Depending on what someone tries to express, it'll make more sense when it's done in the correct tense. The future tenses has so many different categories that it becomes easy to get confused. There are tenses that I haven't used in awhile, this unit is a good refresher. It's also well structured as for each tense you have the forms, usage and common error made by students. It's a really good unit.Foreign languages can be taught with predominant and parrticular teaching methods and approaches, techniques and theories that affect not just teaching development, but also its results. They are fundamental in order to moderate every factor and to achieve the general goal. So All teachers should follow the principles in their teaching process to improve the consistency of a good teaching method.
