The Paris Institute of Childcare Training is a training centre offering up to 100 native level English speakers full time work and training opportunities in the childcare and English education sector. Having completed your TEFL course, do you think you have what it takes to be one of our English speaking childcare educators? Are you internationally ambitious and a native level English speaker? Do you want to explore Europe and the beautiful city of Paris? Then look no further. At Le Repertoire de Gaspard we have two types of jobs available, full-time and part-time:

1. FULL-TIME: Ten month jobs that involve being an English childcare educator plus a training course run at Paris ICT. You will get paid for 35 hours/week and weekends are free. We pay for your training course - there is no cost to you!

2. PART-TIME: part-time work in English including babysitting children; after-school pick-ups; English conversation sessions and teaching English in the child's home. For babysitters, a typical day starts at about 4pm and ends at 7.30pm with the exception of Wednesdays when you can work a half or a full day. These part-time positions are available throughout the year.

EMPLOYEES CAN EXPECT TO:

- earn a recognised childcare diploma in early childhood education that the Institute pays you to do

-undertake free French lessons to maximise the Parisian experience

-educate French children in English

-work placements in international schools and crèches in and around Paris

-earn up to 1100 euros net a month plus 50 per cent of travel costs and free materials for family work

Work offered is on a full-time basis. You need to be available until mid July 2017.

Based in the heart of Paris near the Champs Elysses, we offer an excellent learning experience in addition to earning while you are learning!

All our teachers are bilingual and we offer full administrative support to get you on your feet here.

DETAILS:

You will undertake a CAP Petite Enfance diploma (focuses on early childhood education from 0 to 6 years old) which is a recognised qualification by the French government. You can expect to do an average of about 35 hours a week (note some weeks will vary when you are on work placement and other weeks you will have fewer hours but you will receive the same monthly salary). There is no weekend work and you have holidays OFF at Christmas and Easter (holiday pay is included). The hours consist of the diploma classes (which you are paid to do - a unique opportunity in itself) and then about 20 to 22 hours a week working for a French family to help their child/ren learn English - materials and methods will also be provided for this work.

In addition you will improve your French via free French lessons and do work placements in international schools and creches.

We also provide additional support: finding accommodation, help setting up a bank and telephone account, French administration, Social security.

If you only want part-time work, excellent opportunities are also available at our sister agency Le Repertoire de Gaspard.

QUALIFICATIONS:

You must be able to come to Paris in person asap for interviews and to meet potential families you will work with. The objective is to finalise everyone's work contracts and which family they will work for. The course will finish in June 2018 and family work will finish in early to mid July 2018 depending on the family you are with.

You must have previous childcare experience, ideally babysitting in a home setting or working in a nursery and or teaching English. A young learners EFL qualification is advantageous. Some French would be an advantage but we have had previous candidates who were complete beginners in the language and were able to pass the exam. In the previous few years, additional intensive classes were offered to help beginner level speakers.

You need to send a copy of your CV, references and contact details (email, phone, skype info). We would require a face to face meeting with you (the earlier the better). The sooner the more chance you have of obtaining a place on the course.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching.

Honestly, I was a bit lost in this lesson for a bit. British English can be vastly different from American English and I had a hard time understanding what the teacher said for much of the lesson. But when I watched the second one, I began to understand that this was part of the contrast you were showing. It is always helpful to see examples of live teaching, and this was no exception. This lesson was a bit difficult and I can see why this section would be very difficult for students to comprehend, understand and master. I have learned that mistakes in this section can be made easily and requires special attention and practice especially with the combination of the present tenses. I would have to get more examples to make it easier for younger students to understand.
