TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Chantelle Unit 5
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
I found this unit to be the most informative. This unit covered course development. It broke down how to create a syllabus for different age groups. It covered the different types of tests that should be administered and at what point during a course they should be administered. I am excited about receiving or creating my very first syllabus. Unit 3 outlines parts of a course from beginning to end. At the beginning of a course, teachers conduct level tests and needs analysis. Level tests are useful in finding out students' English skills while needs analysis are done to identify areas that the students wish to improve on and use on day to day basis (or for their future prospects). Teachers design syllabi matching students' English level and needs as well as manage when their students take progress tests within the course. At the end of the course, teachers gauge the effectiveness of their previous lessons and materials through questionnaires given to their students. Students are also welcome to give suggestions on improving their learning process as well as feedbacks on the overall course.
