This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
Unit 3 gives an insight into the the uses of level testing, assessments and examinations for young learners, and suggests ways in which they may differ depending on age and language level. It gives helpful ideas and advice on where to look when creating your own syllabus, and shows the importance of using results gained from level testing and needs analysis to ensure the syllabus is student-needs focused to catalyse learning. I am now aware of the approximate EFL bandings which will also allow me to cater lessons towards specific needs. I understand limiting factors that may occur when designing a syllabus and have some idea on how to work around these in my lessons.
